Medical Safety Support Manager
OSS is currently seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Medical Safety Support Manager for the 18th Medical Group at Kadena AB, Japan. The basic services requires the manager to provide aspects of facility safety by assisting in assigning work, setting priorities, preparing schedules, and developing/executing safety plans for the entire MTF campus. The manager will also provide clinical safety and environmental support responsible for compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), installation, Japanese Environmental Governing Standards (JEGS), and The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations to ensure a safe and efficient working environment for patients, staffs and visitors.
Professional knowledge and demonstrated experience of established clinical
safety, resource protection, and hazardous material/waste principals, practices, procedures, laws and regulations is required.
The ideal candidate is able to read, write, speak and understand English at an advance proficiency level or speaks english as first language, has similar work experience as a
Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, or Certified Safety Engineer, or is NFPA certified.

Education: Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, or Certified Safety Engineer, or NFPA certified preferred.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT: Personnel must be able to read, write, speak and understand English as first language OR at least at the level of STEP (Eiken) 1nd grade, TOEIC score 900 or TOEFL advance proficiency level in speaking and writing.
Experience: A minimum of three years of similar work experience in a facility of at least 200,000 cumulative square feet and over 500 people assigned OR credentials as a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, or Certified Safety Engineer, or NFPA certified. Must have a minimum of three years of experience in managerial position.
Immunizations: Before start of work, health care workers shall provide proof of immunization from the following diseases according to CDC guidelines: Hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza. The RN shall also provide proof of a negative TB skin test within 12 months (if positive, proof of negative chest X-ray within 12 months) prior to start of work. After start of work, the Government will provide post blood borne exposure protocols according to applicable AFIs.
